Anxiety - Information for Parents

Many children experience problems with anxiety. However, for parents and carers, it is often difficult to know what to do for the best. You may have found different advice on the internet and other people may have given you their own advice. This can all cause confusion for parents and lead them to doubt themselves and their abilities.  Parents and carers are in a strong and unique position to help their children overcome fears and worries. By sharing information we aim to help you feel skilled and confident in how to do this.

The West Sussex Educational Psychology Service has recommended a fantastic book to help guide parents and carers through. Helping Your Child with Fears and Worries - A self-help guide for parents by Cathy Creswell and Lucy Willetts gives clear, straightforward step-by-step approach to help you to help your child using a CBT-based approach. The authors are both clinical psychologists who specialise in working with children and their families.

There is no need to purchase the book as we have provided a condensed download that details all the key learning points and strategies.
