Daft about Daffs!

25 October 2019 14:09

We were lucky enough to be contacted by Haskins Garden Centre, working alongside Taylor bulbs and their ‘Little Daffodils’ campaign, offering to come and help us plant hundreds of daffodil bulbs!

Trisha and Hilary, from Haskins Roundstone, visited the school on 16th October, to help Cherry Class to plant their very own pots to take home.

The children loved getting their hands dirty and can’t wait to “see the daffodils poke their heads up!”

Since then, pupils have been planting bulbs all over the school grounds, and are really looking forward to a cheerful sea of yellow next year.

Mrs Burnett, would like to say: ‘Thanks to the staff at Haskins, the children will get hands-on experience of planting bulbs, looking after them and seeing them grow. It is hugely important, in this modern world of concrete, cars and games consoles, to help children connect with the natural world.”
