Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of this term, we want to thank all our parents and carers for your continued support and partnership. At Christmas, we celebrate a message of hope, light and love, which sits at the heart of our Christian vision of “Created to Shine.” Over this term we have seen our children shine as they have shown love to one another and aspired to be the best they can be, both in and beyond the classroom. We hope this Christmas season brings you time for rest, joy and togetherness.  We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year, with renewed energy ready for the Spring Term.

This Week at St Margaret’s

- We had a great time as a school celebrating children's work in Create – our art curriculum. It was lovely to welcome parents and carers into school to share in this too.

- Nikki Hamilton-Street, the chair of Angmering Parish Council, visited our school on Tuesday and spoke to the School Council about road safety and the importance of being seen during these dark winter nights. The Angmering Parish Council have kindly given each child a reflective keyring to go on their bag or coat zip, so they can be seen at night.

- Congratulations to the winners of the school Anti-Bullying Poster competition. Your posters are now on display for the whole school to appreciate them and learn from them.

Joseph B – Maple class, Charlotte S – Mole class, Marine-Grace M – Arundel class, Ameila C – Arundel class, Hannah M – Bramber class.

- Our Year 4 basketball team took part in the finals, having finished second in the locality tournament earlier in the term. The team won two matches and represented the school brilliantly against tough opposition from schools in the Worthing area.

- Our Year 4 and Year 5 children finished off our Christmas events this week with a presentation of their learning. Year 4 performed to parents the work they had been doing in music lessons. Year 5 are presenting their learning with the theme of "Light of the World" after school today.

- Today we look forward to our Chartwell Christmas lunch, before finishing the term tomorrow with celebrating our December Shining Stars. It has certainly been an action packed month!

- If you have not yet managed to make the £2 donation for your child(ren)'s craft but are in a position to do so, then please log in to your MCAS app and select the product found in the store section. Year 4 are awaiting delivery of their calendars. If they don't arrive in time this week, they will come home in January!

Looking Ahead to Next Term

The first day of the Spring Term is Tuesday 6th January – Monday 5th January is an INSET day and therefore school is closed to children on this day.

We are delighted to be able to purchase some new forest school equipment for the Spring term, thanks to a generous donation from Bellway Wessex.  Bellway Wessex are keen to promote environmental learning in our future generations, and we thank them for supporting our extracurricular provision.

Congratulations to Blue House who won the most amount of House Points this term. Along with winning the House Cup in assembly, children in Blue House can wear their own clothes to school on Friday 9th January 2026.
