Dear Parents and Carers,

This Week at St Margaret’s

- On Tuesday we came together as a school community for a short Remembrance Day service. It was great to see parents and friends of the school to attend too and for us to mark Remembrance Day together. The children's behaviour was exceptional and helped to create a very special time of reflection.

- This week we have been learning about anti-bullying week, celebrating what makes us unique and reflecting upon how we show love to everyone in our community, regardless of our differences. Odd Socks Day was a great way to launch the week and raise the profile of it across the school . See below for details about a poster competition Mrs Bray has launched with the children this week.

-  We are excited to be supporting Children in Need this year at St Margaret's.  We will be holding a cake sale after school on Friday 14th November.  If you would like to donate cakes, we will be accepting these donations from today - Thursday 13th November.  Please remember we are a nut-free school which includes spreads that contain nuts.

- Final chance to drop shoeboxes into school for Operation Christmas Child is tomorrow - Friday 14th November. Follow the instructions on this website and drop the box into school next week - Operation Christmas Child. A big thank you to Mrs Lovering-Martin for arranging this for us.

- Congratulations to our girls dodgeball and football teams for their victories this week - fantastic effort and teamwork to come away with back to back wins!

- Proofs of Christmas Cards that children have designed at school will be coming home today. If you would like to order any please follow the instructions on the proof - please note this be done by 12 Noon on the 18th November

Important Notices & Attachments

- Please remember we open our school gates to all year groups and parents at 8:20am. Year 4 - Year 6 children are able to wait on the playground where we have a couple of members of staff supervising, but Reception to Year 3 children should be supervised by an adult until their classroom doors open at 8:30am. School starts at 8:40am

 - Message from Mrs Bray  - We are looking for some new anti-bullying posters to go around school. Their poster needs to have a clear message, be easy to read and also be eye-catching. We have chosen to do a competition towards the end of Anti-bullying week so they can use what they have learnt in their poster. They could choose one of these themes:

•  Encourage others to be kind

•  Show different kind things children could do

•  Be the power of good – show what you could do to act like a superhero and help others if they are sad or feeling bullied

•  Tell children what to do if you are a bystander and see bullying

•  Remind children what to do if they feel bullied

Winners will have their posters displayed around school, get 10 house points and be awarded a certificate in Collective Worship. Everyone who enters will get 5 house points.  Posters are due into the office by Tuesday 25th November. We can’t wait to see their amazing designs!

- Chartwells Christmas Lunch Thursday 18th December (see flyer attached for the menu). Order your child's meal on ParentPay no later than Thursday 4th December and book early to avoid disappointment.
