Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly, welcome to our new website! Newsletters will be now accessed through our website, with the relevant attachments saved too for future reference. Previous letters can also be viewed, downloaded etc. through following the links.

I hope you have all had a good week and feel back in to the swing of things with new routines! Apologies that we have had to send more emails this week than usual – we try to streamline our communication as much as possible, but we didn’t get that quite right this week.

Please take a few minutes to read this letter and the attachments carefully—most of our key dates and updates are communicated here. Note the amended Dates for your Diary!

This Week at St Margaret’s

  • We have had a busy week at school and the children have settled really well. We have celebrated all of our differences, and what makes us all unique. Children across the school have learnt about this through the book The Dot, and have contributed to this fantastic whole school display:

  • We also learnt in Collective Worship how the love we show others in our words and actions isn’t just for our friends – but for everyone. We learnt about the Good Samaritan and reflected on how we can show love to everyone at school and in our community.
  • We are looking forward to welcoming you to our ‘Meet the teacher sessions’ today and tomorrow. All slides will be sent home after the event if you are unable to make it.
  • Today is the last chance for booking a lunch for the 2nd October – if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, or have a child that is eligible and registered for free school meals – please do book a free lunch!
  • Year 6 are off to the Assembly Rooms for a music performance from the Worthing Symphony Orchestra – a fantastic and inspiring opportunity!  If you have not paid and given consent on the “My Child at School” app, please contact the school so your child can attend.

Looking Ahead to Next Week

  • Open Evening – Tuesday 23rd September – 4-6pm. All welcome to come and see what makes our school so special! A great chance to find out more about our school.
  • Our new website is now live! We will continue to update it and tweak things, but feel it is lot easier to navigate for parents already. Do keep an eye on the calendar function – a really useful tool!
  • We have an INSET day on Friday 26th September for staff training – school will be closed to pupils on this day.

Important Notices & Attachments

  • PTA Relaunch: Please register your interest in joining our new PTA through this link: https://forms.gle/RuMdcSiSJGhiJ6a96
  • Harvest Services at St Margaret’s Church are on the 30th September and information for this and our donations to Littlehampton Foodbank for Harvest are attached. All parents welcome to attend!  Years 4,5 and 6 are at 9.15am and years 1, 2 and 3 are at 10am.
  • A message from Mrs Keates and Mrs Parris:

We hope that your child has settled in well to their new class and is enjoying being back at school. At the end of last school year, we were appointed as Lower and Upper School Leads. As part of our new roles, we will be supporting teachers, fostering pupil success, working on standards within the school and strengthening communication between home and school.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us, via the school office, if you have any questions, ideas or concerns. Mrs Keates – Lower School Lead (EYFS, Y1 and Y2) Mrs Parris – Upper School Lead (Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6)

  • Be aware of a scam that is circulating! We have been alerted to a fraudulent app in the Apple App Store that mimics ParentPay branding.  There is no app for Parent Pay – this is a web-based provision. Do not download the app that is doing the rounds.

  • Attachments (see links below!): Harvest Festival letter, Spanish Club opportunity and PTA relaunch, Updated Dates for your Diary

We look forward to welcoming you in to school this week and next. Come to what you can — we know it’s not always easy to juggle commitments, but these moments help strengthen the home–school partnership and ensure everyone feels part of our community.

Best wishes,
Mr. Lumley
