EAL

At our school, we are proud to welcome children and families from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. We believe that every child is Created to Shine, and we are committed to ensuring that pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) feel valued, supported, and celebrated as part of our school community.

Our core values of Love and Aspire guide the way we support EAL learners. With love, we create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels a sense of belonging. With aspiration, we encourage our EAL pupils to develop their confidence, language skills, and talents so that they can thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

We recognise the richness that multilingualism brings and actively celebrate the languages and cultures represented in our school. Through our curriculum, assemblies, and school events, we create opportunities for children to share their heritage and learn from one another. This not only strengthens our inclusive ethos but also helps all pupils grow in empathy, respect, and understanding.

Our aim is for every EAL learner to develop the English language skills they need to succeed academically, while also feeling proud of their own identity and cultural background. By working in partnership with families, we ensure that every child is equipped to shine brightly in their own unique way.
