At St Margaret's School, we believe that every child is Created to Shine. We want our pupils to grow in confidence, kindness, and self-belief, supported by clear expectations and a nurturing environment. Our approach to behaviour is rooted in our core values of Love and Aspire: showing love through respect, kindness, care, and consideration for others, and aspiring to be the best version of ourselves each day.
We are currently developing a new behaviour policy that reflects these principles and provides a consistent, fair, and positive framework for all. This policy will balance a restorative approach — helping children to learn from mistakes, repair relationships, and make better choices — with high expectations for conduct, effort, and respect.
We focus on recognising and celebrating positive behaviour, encouraging responsibility, and supporting pupils in developing the skills they need to manage their emotions and actions. At the same time, we are clear that boundaries are important. By combining compassion with high standards, we ensure that every child understands the importance of consideration for others and the impact of their choices.
Our aim is for every child to feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive. By building a culture of love, aspiration, and respect, we help our pupils not only to succeed academically but also to grow into thoughtful, considerate individuals who shine in all aspects of life.
