We are committed to supporting and enhancing every child’s wellbeing as an important part of our vision that every child is Created to Shine.
All staff members play a crucial role in providing and promoting pastoral care. Additionally, we have two dedicated members of staff whose sole responsibility is to ensure the wellbeing of our children. Mrs Jenna Darby, Pastoral and Safeguarding Manager and Mrs Hannah Torode, Pastoral Assistant.
The pastoral support in schools is a holistic approach focused on our pupil’s emotional, social, and overall well-being needs. This ensures they have a safe, supportive environment to learn and grow.
We utilise a range of approaches as all children are different and our aim is to provide suitable support for the individual. Some of these provisions include daily/weekly 1-2-1 or group interventions, mental health support, Forest Schools, access to the calm room and time spent with our chickens who, like most animals, offer calming therapeutic benefits.
We offer support to all of our families facing various difficulties and complex family situations. We provide advice and resources on parenting skills, managing behaviour and promoting positive attitudes, and we support with referrals to outside agencies.
Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging, remove barriers to learning, improve behaviour and attendance. We encourage the children to aspire to be their best possible self, embracing their full potential.
