Volunteering at Our School

We welcome volunteers who can support our children, staff and wider school community. Volunteers make an important contribution to school life, whether helping with reading, supporting educational visits, assisting at events or sharing skills and experiences with pupils.

Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of our children is our highest priority. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026, all volunteers are required to follow the school's safeguarding and child protection procedures, and appropriate pre-volunteering checks will be completed before any placement begins. Depending on the role, this may include identity checks, references and DBS checks. Volunteers undertaking regulated activity will require the appropriate enhanced DBS and barred list checks.

Becoming a Volunteer

If you are interested in volunteering at our school, we would be delighted to hear from you. Opportunities vary throughout the year and may include:

• Listening to children read
• Supporting learning activities
• Assisting on educational visits
• Helping at school events
• Aiding with Forest School
• Sharing professional skills or experiences

All volunteers receive appropriate guidance and information before beginning their role.
