Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for the positive feedback in regard to the document I shared last week with a guide to who to speak to in school if you have questions or concerns. Please see the link to our website for this guide : Who to contact at St Margaret's CE Primary School. Our school website also has a staff list with photos if you are not sure who is who!
This Week at St Margaret’s
- Last week we came together as a school to take part in the Mini-Marathon, inspired by Mrs Dunn and Mrs Martin's recent marathon exploits! This is always such a great event at school where children and staff come together to encourage each other around the route through the school grounds. Thank you Miss Norcross for organising this for us all to enjoy and well done to everyone for taking part!
- Well done to all the children who took part in the Key Stage 2 Quad Kids competition at the Angmering School on Wednesday.
- Our teachers had some brilliant training this week from West Sussex, focused on supporting Young Carers. We have added a page to our website. If you would like to find out more, click this link: Help for Young Carers in School . You can also speak to Mrs Darby about how we can support children in school who are Young Carers.
- Children are busy preparing for May Day which will be held during the afternoon of Friday 22nd May. Please see the attached letter from Mrs Keates and Mrs Parris about the event.
Next Week at St Margaret's
- Year 6 SATS week. A separate letter will be sent to Year 6 parents reminding parents of arrangements for the week.
- Parent information meeting for Year 1 Phonics Screening – Thursday 14th May at 3pm. The meeting will be held in Chestnut class. Children will be supervised in Maple class by Mrs Magee for the duration of the meeting.
Important Notices & Attachments
- We are now in the season where ticks are active in our area. We would urge you to be vigilant and to check your children carefully when they come home. Attached is the information provided to us by WSCC.
- We are excited to share that we will be welcoming Joanna Adeyinka-Burford (you will recognise her from Cbeebies!) to our school assembly in a couple of weeks' time. She will be talking to the children about her new book 'What's Up', which covers topics such as friendship, focus, anger, sibling rivalry, resilience and grief. It also has thought-provoking reflections, facts and helpful verses from the Bible. Joanna will be signing pre-ordered copies of her book on the day too! Books need to be pre-ordered by Wednesday 20th May. For further details, see the attached letter.
- Next academic year we are aligning our INSET days with the Angmering School. Our term dates and INSET days can be viewed on our website through this link: INSET DAYS
- Children in Reception and Years 1 to 3 must be supervised by parents/carers before classroom doors open at 8:30am. Our supervision does not start until 8:30am and so children in these year groups must not be left by themselves before then.
- See the attached letter regarding School Discos for Years 1 - 6 on Tuesday 19th May 2026.
