Dear Parents and Carers,
This week seems to have flown by with lots going on in school. The great weather has given us plenty of opportunities to be outside in the sunshine. Thank you for your understanding and consideration at the start of the week with the closure of Arundel Road. I know this caused disruption and I would like to thank you for making alternative arrangements, where possible, for travelling to and from school.
This Week at St Margaret’s
- Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous trip to Arundel Castle on Tuesday. I had the pleasure of joining them for the trip and was so impressed with the children's behaviour, learning and engagement throughout the day. They really did our school proud and shone brightly! Thank you to all the parents and helpers who came along to make the trip possible and, of course, our wonderful staff for organising.
- Year 5 enjoyed a trip to St Margaret's Church for an organ workshop. We received a lovely email from the organiser, who congratulated the children for their attentiveness, inquisitiveness and the great way they engaged with the presentation. A good time was had by all!
- A group of children from Year 3 and 4 played brilliantly in the Netball Festival on Tuesday after school, participating in activities and games. Everyone came away happy and with a medal!
- Please click here to find your child's year group Curriculum Leaflet on our website - Curriculum Leaflets. You will be able to read what your child will be learning about this term. Please speak to your child's class teacher if you have any questions or can offer help with the topics we will be covering.
- We are now a Silver accredited Smartphone Free School. This recognises our commitment to keeping children safe in their use of technology and how we manage mobile phones in school. A parent workshop focused on online safety is scheduled for Friday 1st May (details below from Mrs Darby). We also have a growing group of parents engaging with the Smart Phone Free Childhood network. Please see our website for more information about mobile phones in school - Mobile Phones

- A message from Kieran at Goodground Childcare -
We’re really pleased to share that Good Ground Childcare’s Bushcraft Club at St Margaret’s is already off to a brilliant start this term
The children have been fantastic so far. Just this week they worked together to build a full survival shelter completely from scratch, which was great to see.
With the weather being so good, it’s the perfect time for the children to be outside. Over the coming weeks, they’ll be getting involved in bushcraft skills, campfire cooking, and more shelter building and team challenges.
We still have a couple of spaces available this term, so if your child would enjoy getting outdoors, building confidence and learning practical skills, it’s a great time to join.
When: Every Tuesday (term time)
Time: 3:00pm – 4:15pm
Who: Open to all St Margaret’s pupils
If your child enjoys being active, exploring and getting stuck outdoors, they’ll love Bushcraft Club.
