Thursday 12th March 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

Another busy week comes to a close with lots of fantastic learning across the school. I have particularly enjoyed seeing our talented Year 3 and 4 pupils rehearsing enthusiastically for their upcoming show, The Wizard of Oz. Their energy and dedication have brought a real buzz to the school, and we are all looking forward to seeing their hard work come together on stage.

This Week at St Margaret’s

  • Year 5 had a fantastic visit to the Planetarium in Chichester this week. Many thanks to those who came and volunteered on the trip. We are really grateful.
  • Year 4, 5 and 6 Girls Basketball Festival - The Angmering School - Thursday 12th March
  • St Margaret's Got Talent for participating children – Friday 13th March 6pm (Tickets are available on MCAS)

Next Week at St Margaret's

  • EYFS trip to Amberley Museum - Wednesday 18th March

  • Thursday 19th March at 9am - Spring Term Music Concert - parents and carers of our school choir and other invited performers are warmly welcome to attend. Our thanks to Mr Carton for organising this opportunity for our children.
  • After school on Thursday 19th March, parents and carers are invited into school to see their child’s work from this term’s Discover topic. This will run just like the Autumn term visit, when you came in to view the children’s artwork. Classrooms will be open after school. Teachers will dismiss children as usual, so please collect your child from their normal place first. Then you can return to the classroom together to look at their work. We look forward to you seeing how your children have been aspiring to achieve their best this term!

  • Friday 20th March - Year 4 Music Concert - Year 4 parents and carers are invited to listen to our Year 4 classes showcasing their learning from the music lessons with Mr Chalk. Fox class - 1:30-2:00pm followed by Mole class - 2:15-2:45pm.

  • We will be hosting a workshop titled “Supporting My Child to Emotionally Regulate.” This session will help parents understand emotional regulation, recognise behaviours as a form of communication, and respond supportively to their children’s needs.
    Friday 27th March, 9:30–10:30am
Please speak to the School Office to reserve your place.

  • Children in Year 5 or Year 6 who walk to or from school independently must have written permission. This can be done through the School Office. Only children who have this permission are permitted to bring a mobile phone with them to school, which is handed in at the start of the day and collected at the end. No other child should bring a mobile phone into school (unless for agreed medical reasons).

  • Online Parent Talk - Let’s talk about our kids and their tech on Thursday 19th March at 7pm. See attached letter about this online presentation from the Smartphone Free Childhood network. It promises to be a really interesting talk for supporting parents with children's use and exposure to smartphones.
