Dear Parents and Carers,

How nice that Spring has finally sprung and we have had sunny weather this week. We have even been able to get out on to the field at lunch times for play! A big thank you to everyone who has supported our Wonka Chocolate Bar fundraiser, which has been generously supported by our gold sponsors, Raw Services, Cooper Adams and Ayton House and our Bronze sponsor, Good Ground.  Thank you to everyone who made this possible. This Week at St Margaret’s

• We are having a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day today. We have lots of different things happening throughout the day to celebrate all things reading. It has been great to see so many children enjoying books and time spent focusing on the joy reading brings us. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for our staff 'The Masked Reader' which the children have enjoyed watching today too!
• Friday 6th March – Prayer Meeting for the school at 9am in St Margaret's Church Vestry Hall. All welcome.

Important Notices & Attachments

• I just wanted to signpost you to CBBC Newsround as a really good source of news delivered in a child-friendly way, particularly for Key Stage 2 children. This is particularly helpful if you are concerned about how to talk to your child about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround 

• We will be hosting a workshop titled “Supporting My Child to Emotionally Regulate.” This session will help parents understand emotional regulation, recognise behaviours as a form of communication, and respond supportively to their children’s needs.

  Please speak to the School Office to reserve your place.

• Children in Year 5 or Year 6 who walk to or from school independently must have written permission. This can be done through the School Office. Only children who have this permission are permitted to bring a mobile phone with them to school, which is handed in at the start of the day and collected at the end. No other child should bring a mobile phone into school (unless for agreed medical reasons).

• Online Parent Talk - Let’s talk about our kids and their tech on Thursday 19th March at 7pm. See attached letter about this online presentation from the Smartphone Free Childhood network. It promises to be a really interesting talk for supporting parents with children's use and exposure to smartphones.
