Dear Parents & Carers,
This week we welcomed our Education Adviser from WSCC into school. It was fantastic to see our children so engaged in their learning, excellent behaviour, so confident in speaking to our visitor about their learning and enjoyment of what they were doing. It has also been great to see our wide range of clubs and activities in full swing this week! A special mention to our Key Stage 2 children who took part in the Angmering Mile. It was great to see so many children take part and demonstrate our school value of Aspire!
Next week:
- It is the turn of Key Stage 1 to take part in the Angmering half mile next week! Good luck to everyone running!
- We look forward to our Open Evening on Wednesday 23rd September - 4pm-6pm. Children who are involved in helping during the evening are asked to arrive by 3:50pm so we can get everyone registered. Open Evening is for current parents as well as prospective parents.
- We are excited to launch a new community project over the next 5 weeks in support of Operation Christmas Child. We believe that as a school community we can shine brightly by showing love, kindness, service and generosity to others. Please read the attached letter which outlines our plans for supporting this worthwhile cause over the next 5 weeks. Keep an eye on our Social Media channels for some short videos that will explain more! We would love the whole school community to be involved!
- A reminder that school is closed to pupils next Friday (25th September) for INSET day.
- If your child is in Reception, don't forget that St Margaret's Church are holding a tea party at the Rectory, Church Lane, Angmering, West Sussex BN16 4JU from 2.00 - 3.00pm on Saturday 26th September. All parents, carers and children in our Reception classes are welcome to attend.

- As you will know, we are now using Tapestry. If you would like some support, do view the tutorials through this link or, alternatively, you can also ask us questions by emailing tapestry@stmargaretsprimary.org.uk. Please use this email address for Tapestry related questions rather than the school office!
- Not sure who to speak to when you have a question or concern? Take a look at the "Who to contact if you have a question or concern" page on our website to know who to go to for what!
- The secondary school admissions season is upon us already. Most schools have Open Evenings over the next few weeks. Information about how to register your Year 6 child's place at a secondary school came out last week. If you have not received the email please contact the school office. Please note that all applications must be made by Saturday 31st October 2026. Parents and carers of children in Year 5 may also be interested in attending open evenings, as next year will soon come around.
- We have attached our Dates for your Diary to this letter. Do check this for any updates! Any new additions or alterations will be highlighted in red.
- Family Support Work, based at St Margaret's Church, offers a monthly after school club to support families. There are lots of fun activities for the children and an opportunity for parents to connect. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
- We will soon have a vacancy for the role of Parent Governor. Mrs Kate Goater has come to the end of her term on the Board and so the process for elections now starts. We are so grateful to Kate for all her hard work as part of the Board of Governors - thank you, Kate! Please see the attached letter for more information if you are interested in being a Parent Governor and do speak with myself or Mrs Emma Craughan (Co-Chair of Governors) if you would like to find out more about governance.
- West Sussex Family Learning team have released their courses for the term. These short, practical courses provide useful advice, evidence-based strategies, and the opportunity to connect with other families facing similar challenges. To find out more and view their latest courses, please visit Family learning in West Sussex - West Sussex County Council. This term, they are offering virtual courses, including 'How to Help Your Child with Learning in Reception and Key Stage 1' and 'Managing Screen Time', alongside in-person courses, such as 'Supporting Children with Anxiety and Building Resilience', available in Horsham and Crawley.
