Dear Parents & Carers,
It has been great to welcome you in to school this week for our 'Meet the teacher' sessions. We hope these were informative and have helped you understand a little more about the year ahead. Year group curriculum letters will be with you very soon, if not already. On Wednesday 23rd September 4pm-6pm, we have our Open Evening. This event is for prospective and current parents interested in finding out more about St Margaret's, to see the school and explore the different opportunities we offer. Please do share this event with any families you may know who are considering St Margaret's for their child. As current parents, you are all very welcome to come to Open Evening as well and have a look around the school. Children in Year 5 and Year 6 will be asked to help out at the event with a variety of different roles. Information regarding this will be sent to you separately by the Key Stage 2 team.
Next week:
- On Tuesday of next week we have our School Photographer coming in to take individual photos and photos with siblings. If your child is in Year 3 or Year 5, please send your child to school in their school uniform and bring their PE Kit in for them to change in to. If your child is in Year 1 and due to have Forest School on Tuesday, please send your child to school in their school uniform and bring their Forest School clothes to change in to.
- Key Stage 2 Angmering Mile - Tuesday 15th September 3:45pm - details were sent via email to KS2 parents as we are collecting forms for our sports events digitally now where possible.
Important information & updates:
- We are already having items of lost property being handed in to the school office. Please can all of your child's belongings be clearly labelled with their name and class so that we can endeavour to return the lost item to you. Without being named, you have less chance of being re-united with the lost item.
-You will have noticed that Sally, our crossing patrol from WSCC, is currently off work. During this time, please be particularly careful in crossing the road. WSCC are not able to send cover for Sally's absence at the moment, so we are without this provision at this time.
- On the topic of traffic, I have received a number of concerns from our local residents about parking on the neighbouring roads around school. Please be respectful and safe in where you park and ensure you are not blocking driveways, parking on yellow lines or on the corners of junctions. This is for the safety of the whole community, and respect for our neighbours.
- The secondary school admissions season is upon us already. Most schools have Open Evenings over the next few weeks. Information about how to register your Year 6 child's place at a secondary school came out earlier this week. If you have not received the email please contact the school office. Please note that all applications must be made by Saturday 31st October 2026. Parents and carers of children in Year 5 may also be interested in attending open evenings, as next year will soon come around. Bishop Luffa school in Chichester have sent us details of their events which they have asked us to share. See attached.
- We have attached our Dates for your Diary to this letter. We will send it each week as part of the newsletter and mark any changes to the document and bring it to your attention in this letter too. Events are subject to change.
- Just to clarify, as there has been some confusion, please note that Activ8 Basketball club is after school on Mondays 3.00 - 4.00pm.
