Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to everyone for all their efforts this week in the hot weather. The children have been amazing, despite being so tired towards the end of term, and the challenges of the heat. We have had lots of school events throughout the week and lots more to come too!
There is lots to communicate with parents this week and I am sorry if it might feel like information overload! Please refer back to the website and review any of the weekly newsletters if you need a reminder about anything that is communicated. I know all the information shared from school is a lot to hold sometimes, especially as busy parents and carers!
Dates for your Diary
- Year 4 music performances are on Friday 10th July. Fox class at 1:30pm followed by Mole class at 2:15pm. Each class will showcase what they have learnt over the last term. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
- Infants Sports morning has been re-arranged for Friday 10th July starting at 9.10am. Parents and carers welcome to attend. We have shortened the activities because of the heat. Please ensure your children have water, hats and sun cream but also take care if you are coming to watch. Bring some water, wear a hat, and seek shade where you can!
- Year 6 have a Leaver's party run by the Governors at The Lido in Arundel with swimming and a BBQ on Friday 10th July starting at 5.45pm.
- We look forward to our Year 5 and Year 6 production next week. You must have tickets for the show! This is important as we are restricted on the number of people we are allowed in the hall. It is also due to be warm, and the hall gets very hot!
- Parents and carers are warmly invited to visit your child’s classroom on Thursday 16th July, immediately after school for our Explore showcase. This event is an opportunity for pupils to share the fantastic learning they have been working on throughout the term.
- Friday 17th July 2:15pm - Rock Steady concert for parents of participating children.

- Mrs Bray has been working incredibly hard on our new RSHE policy. Please see the attached letter and policy, and do get in touch if you have feedback, as parental consultation is an important part of the process.
- Mobile Phone Policy – Attached is a letter explaining an important update to our mobile phone policy from September 2026, when St Margaret's will become a smartphone-free school. You may already be aware of primary and secondary schools locally and nationally taking this approach in light of new government guidance. This change reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, calm and focused environment where all children can flourish. Please do take a few minutes to read the full letter for more information.
- You will be aware from previous newsletters that Ticklemetoo will be leaving St Margaret's at the end of the Autumn Term. We are pleased to announce that Activ8 will be our new wrap-around care provider from January 2027. Please see the attached flyer for more information about this provision and a QR code for where you can register your interest. We are really excited to be working with Activ8 - who bring a wealth of experience in running breakfast and afterschool clubs for schools.
- Our new hot meals provider will be in the playground after school on Wednesday 15th July with a food truck! This gives parents and children (and hopefully a hungry headteacher) the opportunity to try the food before the new provision starts in September.
- Please can we remind you that children shouldn't be bringing toys into school. There have been lots of 'squishies' arriving in school at the moment, which causes lots of distraction and issues between children. If your child requires resources to support their needs from a SEN point of view, the school will provide the necessary items. Please speak with Mrs Challis or Mrs Darby if you have any questions.

From September, our contract with Seesaw finishes. We have made the decision to move to 'Tapestry', another online platform for sharing learning and communication between home and school. This platform is very similar and will work in the same way as sharing observations with you. You will also still be able to add pictures and videos of learning and experiences that happen at home. We will soon be sharing information to support the set-up of this new system and gaining permissions. Please also look out for an email from Tapestry with a link to set up your account. If there are any issues, please email us using tapestry@stmargaretsprimary.org.uk.
