Dear Parents and Carers,
Well done to all our Year 6 children who have been completing the Bikeability course this week. It's great to see lots of children cycling to school (with helmets!) and to see children develop their confidence and understanding of road safety too. I do need to remind parents about the importance of parking safely and legally on the roads around school and in the village. I receive frequent complaints from neighbours about cars blocking driveways, or parked on the corner of junctions or on yellow lines. Please can I also remind parents that Starling View (the housing estate towards the north of school) is a private road and parents must not park there. Sorry for the repeated message around parking, but it is so important to ensure the safety of everybody.
This Week at St Margaret’s
- Lewes Class had a great time visiting the Evergreen group at St Margaret's Church on Wednesday. It is wonderful to see our children connect with different groups within our community. Our weekly book club with Ayton House residents continues to be a great success too. I know it is a real highlight of the week for those residents able to come into school and share books with the children each week.
- Our chicken area has been totally revamped and is looking brilliant! This has enabled us to create additional spaces for all children to enjoy outside, increasing the opportunity to find a shady spot at lunch time in the orchard area, and also through the creation of a space which we will be using as a school allotment. Any volunteers who would like to help with this provision in the new year would be most welcome!
- We look forward to our Summer Music Concert later today. A big thank you to Mr Carton for all his hard work in making this happen.
- Join us on Friday 19th June at 9.30am for our parenting workshop on 'Supporting my child with their worries and managing our worries as parents'. This workshop is designed to support parents in recognising and applying techniques to help their child manage worries, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies. It will also provide guidance for parents who may be experiencing their own challenges with anxiety. Please contact the school office to book your place.
- Saturday 20th June - St Margaret's Church Fun Day - see flyer for details!

- We have lots of pre-loved uniform available for parents to take, for a small donation. We will put the rails outside the front office after school, but do pop in and have a look to see if there is anything you need.
- We are excited to announce that we are working in partnership with Graham Butt Estate Agents, who are supporting us in developing our outdoors EYFS area. Please see the attached flyer for the opportunity for our families to access discounted estate agency fees and how this will also help raise funds for the school to develop our outdoor provision.
- Our Reception team would be very grateful for any donations of rolls of wallpaper no longer needed! Thank you in advance.
