Thursday 16th April 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have all had a restful Easter break and that you are settling back into the new term. It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school, and  we look forward to a season full of sunshine, outdoor learning, and many exciting events ahead.  This week we are also delighted to welcome Mrs  Magee, our new Deputy Headteacher,  and Mrs  Challis, our new SENCO, to the St  Margaret’s team. They have already received a very warm welcome and I know they would appreciate you stopping to say hello if you see them on the playground before or after school.

The summer term is always a busy one, so please do take a moment each week to read the newsletter carefully. We will continue to attach the Dates for Your Diary Summer Term 2026 and will highlight any updates or changes as they arise.

This Week at St Margaret’s

  • Due to the improved weather of late, we have been able to open up the field at lunch times for our summer lunch provision. As you know, we recently changed our lunchtime model and we will continue to review and refine this as we settle in to the new term.
  • Children have enjoyed starting new topics across the curriculum subjects.  Curriculum leaflets, giving information about the learning for the summer term, will be shared with each year group over the course of the next week.
  • We started a new Collective Worship series on 'Care for Creation', focussing on how we are called to care for the environment and God's creation. Follow  the link to a song called 'The King' which we have started to learn this week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogg9ZFSYbUU&list=RDogg9ZFSYbUU&start_radio=1
  • We are looking forward to the Rocksteady concert on Friday afternoon of this week.

Next Week at St Margaret's

  • Note the change in date for the KS1 Multi-skills festival which is now Monday 27th April and not Monday 20th April, as previously advertised.
  • Year 5 are visiting St Margaret's Church on Monday 20th April for an organ workshop.
  • Year 2 are looking forward to a school trip to Arundel Castle on Tuesday.
  • School led clubs start back next week, Monday 20th April and will finish week ending Friday 17th July 2026 (excluding half term week commencing Monday 25th May).  Please visit your MCAS app in order to book one of the clubs and to give your consent (see attached letter sent out before Easter).  For our free clubs you will still need to book on MCAS and give consent.  If you do not yet have an access code for MCAS, please contact the school office.  All internal and external provider clubs details can be found on our website under Extra Curricular Clubs.
