Dear Parents and Carers,

As I wrote in last week's newsletter, we are focusing on our school value of Aspire this term. It has been great to see so many examples of children demonstrating determination and perseverance in their learning this week and I am looking forward to seeing all the progress our children will make over the course of the Spring term. As a school community, we are committed to ensuring every child can achieve their best and shine brightly. This means encouraging them to aim high, be ambitious, and work hard in everything they do. Let's continue to work together to reinforce this message and instil the value of Aspire in everyone.

This Week at St Margaret’s

- Reminder today is the deadline to submit a Supplementary Information Form if you are applying under faith criteria for a school place in Year R this coming September - attached below.

- Our Year 2's had a brilliant 'Great Fire of London Day' - bringing their learning to life through a variety of different activities. It was great to see everyone dressed up too!

- Thank you for your patience with us in setting up the Spring term clubs on MCAS. This is all live now, but please get in touch if you need any support signing up.

- We welcomed residents from Ayton House into school this week to read with children from Year 3. It is so great to see the different generations spend time together and learn from each other. We are pleased to continue this work which started last term and look forward to growing this partnership more.

- Congratulations to our Key Stage 2 children who took part in the Angmering Mile on Wednesday after school.

- We practised a fire drill on Wednesday to ensure everybody knows what to do if we need to evacuate the school. All of our children did so well, demonstrating once again their superb behaviour and attitude.

Looking Ahead to Next Week

- Monday 19th January - Year 3 and Year 4 Indoor Athletics competition after school at the Angmering School.

- Y6 SATS parents information meeting – either Tuesday 20th January at 6pm or Thursday 22nd January at 2:15pm in the school hall.

- Friday 23rd January - Deadline for St Margaret's Got Talent application forms, see attachment.

Important Notices & Attachments

- The Deputy Headteacher and SENCo recruitment process has begun, and we have already had lots of interest in both roles. Please do share with anyone you know who may be interested. https://www.stmargaretsprimary.org.uk/news/?pid=6&nid=3

- We attach to this newsletter our Spring Term Dates for your Diary. Please be mindful that dates are subject to change. We will make any changes to the dates in this document in red so you can see what has changed and this will be attached to the newsletter each week. Our school calendar is also a good place to see when different events have been scheduled.

- We are still on the look out for different community groups or projects in the local area to partner with. We would love for each year group to be involved in serving our local community and would be grateful if you could be in touch if you had any links or networks that may help facilitate this.
