ECB Primary Schools Indoor Cricket Tournament - Durrington High School

Well done to the following boys who played in the cricket tournament on Monday:- Adam, Alex, Fin, Tom, Freddie and Toby.

Four games were played against other schools in the Worthing area.  In every game the boys performed amazingly well and blew away the opposition.  The standards shown by our team were high and all of them played with great determination and skill.

Game 1 v Georgian Gardens

Tough game to start - the team knew it was going to be hard but they stuck to the plan they had come up with and it worked well!  We batted first scoring 238 of 6 4 ball overs (the score starts on 200 and every wicket lost the team loose 5 runs).  All boys scored good runs.  Georgian Gardens scored 201 off their overs with our team bowling and fielding really well.

Game 2 v English Marters

Our team were in great spirits and scored 231 winning the second match.

Game 3 - West Park

This was a big game as both of us had won 2 games already.  However we batted first scoring 240.  After some superb bowling we kept West Park to 215.

Game 4 v Durrington

We had a big crowd watching for this game!  Our team started off amazingly by putting on a show with the batting - we smashed the ball everywhere scoring a massive 242.  Our bowling was the best we had done all afternoon restricting Durrington to only scoring 201.

We won every game which now puts our Cricket team through to the next round to be held on Thursday 21st March at Worthing High School.

Well done
